4Deinostratos S.d. Deiniades aus dem Demos Ankyle stellte den Antrag: Da der Rat unter dem Archon Pythodoros beschlossen hat, die Redner im Rat zu beurteilen in der neunten Prytanie
5und denjenigen zu ehren, der am besten in Wort und Tat und unbestechlich für Rat und Volk der Athener das ganze Jahr hindurch gewirkt hat; und da der Rat nach Abstimmung hierüber gewählt
6hat Phanodemos S.d. Diyllos aus dem Demos Thymaitadai, wolle beschließen der Rat, zu Glück und Heil des Volkes der Athener und ihres Rates: dass man belobige Phanodemos S.d. Diyllos aus dem Demos Thymaitadai
7für seine Leistung und seine Gerechtigkeit gegenüber Rat und Volk der Athener und ihn bekränze mit goldenen Kranz im Wert von 500 Drachmen; dass das Geld für den
8Kranz aus dem Dekret-Fonds des Rates komme; dass auf die Weihung des Rates auch diesen Beschluss aufschreibe die gewählte Kommission für die Anfertigung der Weihung; dass, damit auch
9das Volk die Beschlüsse des Rates über Phanodemos erfahre und auch selbst ihn ehre und bekränze, indem das Volk dieselben Beschlüsse fasst wie der Rat, die Vorsitzenden, die ausgelost werden
10zum Vorsitz im Volk bei der ersten Volksversammlung, verhandeln lassen über Phanodemos und dass der Sekretär dem Volk diesen Beschluss vorlese und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates im Volk einbringe,
11wonach der Rat beschließt: Da Phanodemos S.d. Diyllos aus dem Demos Thymaitadai gut und ehrenvoll und unbestechlich als Ratsmitglied tätig war und in Wort und Tat das Beste für den Rat
12und das Volk der Athener und seine Verbündeten wirkte, dass man ihn belobige wegen seiner Leistung und Gerechtigkeit gegenüber dem Rat und dem Volk der Athener und seine Verbündeten, und bekränze
13mit goldenem Kranz im Wert von 1000 Drachmen, sobald er Rechenschaft abgelegt hat; dass das Geld für den Kranz aus dem Fonds komme, den das Volk beschließt; und dass, damit nun auch alle anderen erfahren, dass
14Volk und Rat Dank abzustatten wissen denen, die stets in Wort und Tat das Beste für Rat und Volk wirken, diesen Beschluss der Sekretär,
15der während der Prytanien amtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis; dass für die Aufzeichnung auf die Stele der Schatzmeister 30 Drachmen gebe aus dem Dekret-Fonds
16des Volkes.

4Deinostratos son of Deiniades of Ankyle proposed: since the Council in the archonship of Pythodotos 343/2) resolved to make a judgement of those speaking in the Council in the ninth
5prytany and to honour the man who seemed to it to have spoken and acted best and incorruptibly on behalf of the Athenian Council and People throughout the year, and since the Council voted
6about this and chose Phanodemos son of Diyllos of Thymaitadai, the Council shall decide: for the good fortune of the Athenian People and Council, to praise Phanodemos son of Diyllos of Thymaitadai
7for his excellence and justice towards the Athenian Council and People and to crown him with a gold crown of 500 drachmas; and the money for the
8crown shall come from the Council’s fund for expenditure on decrees; and those elected to make the dedication of the Council shall also inscribe this resolution on the dedication; and in order that
9the People may know what the Council has resolved about Phanodemos, and may itself honour and crown him if the People share the Council’s opinion, the presiding committee allotted to preside
10in the People at the next Assembly shall put the subject of Phanodemos on the agenda, and the secretary to the People shall read out this decree and submit to the People the opinion of the Council, that
11it seems good to the Council, since Phanodemos son of Diyllos of Thymaitadai has held office as councillor well and with love of honour and incorruptibly, and has spoken and acted excellently on behalf of
12the Athenian Council and People and the allies, to praise him for his excellence and justice towards the Athenian Council and People and the allies, and crown him with a
13gold crown of 1,000 drachmas when he has rendered his accounts; and the money for the crown shall come from whatever source the People decides; and in order that [everyone else or all other officials] may also be aware that
14the People and Council know how to give thanks to those who speak and act excellently on behalf of the Council and the People, the prytany secretary
15shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis; and the treasurer of the People shall give [20] or [30] drachmas for inscribing the stele from the People’s fund
16for expenditure on decrees.
